While visiting our beautiful capital, be sure to drop by the London Motor Museum located in Hayes, Greater London. If the idea of visiting one of the largest collections of both classic and custom automobiles in Europe revs your engine, then this is the place for you.

The London Motor Museum is home to more than 200 collectable automobiles. Among the vast plethora of steel, rubber and chrome you will find a 1937 Auburn Speedster, a 1967 ‘Eleanor’ GT500 and a 1937 Lincoln Zephyr. A truly remarkable collection for anyone who loves the classic cars, but has never had the chance to get up close to one.

But that’s really not the end of it. The London Motor Museum has a little something for everyone. Feast your eyes on exhibits that include the Movie Car Section, the Bat-Cave (home to both the 1966 and 1989 Batmobile), Muscle Car Alley and the Supercar Paddock.

The Bat Cave
Before the Justice League swooped on to the big screen, the original Batman would boldly proclaim: ‘Quick Robin, to the Batmobile’. The Bat Cave boasts that ever-popular 1966 Batmobile featured in the classic television series starring Adam West. For those of you who loved Tim Burton’s incarnation of the caped crusader, the London Motor Museum also features the 1989 version of the Batmobile.

Movie Cars
Sometimes the vehicles displayed in big budget movies attain celebrity status as much as the stars behind the wheel. The London Motor Museum’s Movie Cars section houses iconic automobiles including the likes of , Starsky and Hutch's Gran Torino, Mr Bean's Mini, 'Only Fools and Horses' Robin Reliant and a Lotus Esprit. As many of you know, the Lotus Esprit featured in James Bond 'The Spy Who Loved Me'.

Supercar Paddock
The Supercar Paddock featuring our 2014 Formula One car, driven by Pastor Maldonado (Venezuela), driver for the Lotus Formula One team.

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year celebrations near Hotel Xanadu

Once again the Chinese New Year is upon us and this year we welcome the Year of the Dog. Prepare yourselves for festivities like no other. The Chinese Celebration is set to fill most of the West End with music, fireworks, acrobatic displays and other activities.

Dragon and lion dances will kick things off on Charing Cross Road at 10:00 am, shimmying down through the streets to China Town. Moving across to Trafalgar Square, the festivities will continue with traditional dance shows, contemporary hip-hop acts and Chinese performances.

We hope that you have a large appetite, as there will be street vendors and food trucks available offering a wide variety of Traditional Chinese cuisine. Restaurants in China Town are also preparing special Chinese New Year menus to cater for all tastes.

What's it all about
Dog is the eleventh in the 12-year cycle of Chinese zodiac signs. The Years of the Dog include 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030, 2042. The Theology behind this is that the dog is man's good friend who can understand the human's spirit and obey its master, whether he is wealthy or not. The Chinese regard it as an auspicious animal. If a dog happens to come to a house, it symbolizes the coming of fortune.

This is a perfect event for the whole family. Kids will be thoroughly entertained by calligraphy workshops, dressing up and performances in the Leicester Square family zone before heading back to Trafalgar Square for the closing pyrotechnics display.

Planning ahead
The Chinese New Year celebration promises to be fun for the whole family and should not be missed.  As you can imagine, this event is very popular. If you intend to visit London, please plan ahead. Can Graphic Design Save Your Life?

Where: Wellcome Collection, 183 - 193 Euston Road, Camden, London, NW1 2BE
Until 14 January 2018

Can graphic design save your life event

The Can Graphic Design Save Your Life? exhibition at the Wellcome Collection in London is open until 14 January 2018. Admission is free. Prepare to open your mind as you explore the relationship between graphic design and health in the current exhibition.

For those of you who don't know, graphic design is the art or skill of combining text and pictures in advertisements, magazines, or books. One could easily class graphic design as a form of art. We can all appreciate art, in its many forms, on some level. The big question is: Can Graphic Design Save Your Life?

Apart from the simple appreciation of colour and form within graphic design, the Wellcome Collection exhibition invites you to consider the often surprising strategies used to change public perception in several health arenas. This can be from opinions on smoking to the colour of paint used in a children's hospital ward. Questions are visually raised to form opinions through the medium of graphic design.

Can Graphic Design Save Your Life?
This exhibition highlights the widespread and often subliminal nature of graphic design in shaping our environment, our health and our sense of self. Drawn from public and private collections around the world, it features work from influential figures in graphic design from the 20th century, as well as from studios and individual designers working today.

Planning ahead
There is so many wonderful exhibitions to see in London. The Wellcome Collection is no exception and is great fun for all art enthusiasts.  If you intend to visit our beautiful capital city, please plan ahead. Why not make a day of it and avoid the long drive home? Accommodation at this time of year is in high demand. Hotel Xanadu is perfectly located with quick access routes to all the attractions.

The EARTH without ART would just be EH.
