Christmas at Kew Gardens returns once again to delight the whole family. This spectacular event started on 22 November and runs until 1 January 2018. As the sun sets over the bustling capital city, the glow of Christmas lights fills the horizon.

A mile-long enchanted journey awaits you at this popular after-dark Christmas extravaganza. Over one million lights have been used to create this ever-popular Christmas attraction. 

Your family and friends will love exploring the illuminated path around the beautifully established gardens. Start you adventure through hundreds of glowing orbs. Follow the winding course through the trees to the colossal Sledge Tree made of more than 360 wooden Santa’s sledges.

As you explore further down the spectacle, you will be surrounded by the Singing Trees before you arrive at the lake. Here you will enjoy an underwater display of lights and magic.

Every inch of the Kew Botanical Gardens has been blanketed by a stunning array of lights. Witness the luminous petals at the Great Broad Walk Borders before ending your journey with the spectacular light, music and water display in front of the iconic Palm House.

Wide-eyed children will be delighted by Santa and his elves performing pantos along the trail; there is also a ride on the Victorian carousel and the helter-skelter to enjoy.

Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park

Tickets: Mostly free of charge – activities cost a bit extra (but not much)
Opening Times: 10am to 10pm (except on 17 November, when it opens at 5pm). Winter Wonderland will be closed on Christmas Day.

Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park opened its doors on Friday 17 November 2017 and will remain the beacon of Christmas family fun until 1 January 2018. This year the attractions are bigger and better than ever before. Entry is free of charge, although you will need to pay individually for any rides or shows. There is so much to see and do including Winter Wonderland ice skating, big top shows and an observation wheel.

The organisers have catered for everyone, young and old. If your kids are old enough, let them have a go on the carousel, helter-skelter and the run-around funhouses at the traditional fairground. Older children can strap in for an adrenaline-fuelled rollercoaster ride. They will be able to spend their pocket money buying tokens for the various rides at dedicated token booths.

Jingle all the way down to the Ealing Christmas Market, to be held at the Ealing Broadway Centre this year from Thursday 23 November to Sunday 24 December. This exciting event is hosted by Eat Me, Drink Me, West London’s finest organisers of markets and free events.

Ealing Christmas Market

This is the 2nd Ealing Christmas Market in the Ealing Broadway Centre. The organisers are eagerly waiting to hang the garlands and decorative Christmas lights. After the success of last years’ market, many of the traders will be returning to provide attendees with wonderful Christmas fare. For the true Christmas market experience, there will be a large selection of street food stalls and, of course, mulled wine.

Did you know that Eat Me, Drink Me will have their own stall and will display their goods at the Wonderland Collective shop? This beautifully decorated cabin features luxury, hand-crafted gifts, many of which you won’t find anywhere else in West London. Truly something for everyone.

The organisers are always happy to discover new traders and welcome anyone interested to contact them directly while there are still available lots.

As always, Father Christmas will be on hand at the weekends to take gift requests from all the kids – but only if they’ve been good😊. There is also an ice cave every day for the kids to enjoy.
